Virtual communities
are the future.
We’ve got some big problems as a civilization, but the breakdown of communities is one of the more underrated. 500 years ago, almost everybody still lived in tribes. 100 years ago, most of us lived among extended families in towns or neighborhoods where we were known.
Today, we’re lucky to be part of a nuclear family.
I don’t think virtual communities (VC) can fix this problem, but they’re a step in the right direction.
Within 5 years, we will all be members of multiple VCs. Not social media platforms or fan clubs, but designated online spaces where people can connect in more substantive and meaningful ways.
Every day, more people get on board with this movement by joining a VC or starting their own.
